At the start of this year, the Australian Government changed the childcare subsidy rules.
Before, some families could not get help to pay for childcare if parents were not working or studying. This was called the Activity Test for the Child Care Subsidy.
Now, that rule is gone. All eligible families can get 3 days of subsidised (cheaper) childcare every week, even if parents are not working or studying.
We want to know: has this change affected you? Is it easier for your family to access childcare than it used to be?
We would love to hear your story. There are opportunities to:
- share your story with us confidentially, or
- speak directly with the team from the Minister for Early Childhood to share your story, or
- speak to the media.
Sharing stories like this can help to celebrate ‘wins’ and make it more likely for government to make more changes to make Australia’s early childhood system better.
We can offer you support, practice and preparation if you would like to share your story. It is entirely voluntary, and you can change your mind at any time.
If this is something you would be interested in, please get in touch at Communications.ndis@bsl.org.au and we can give you a bit more information about this opportunity.
