At the Brotherhood of St. Laurence (BSL) Disability Services, we’re designing a Service Delivery Model to guide how we work alongside people with disability, families and communities. This will shape how we deliver our services, what people can expect from us, and how we support people to live the life they choose.

The model will be built alongside the communities we work with. That means listening to people with lived experience at every step of the way.

What are we doing?

We are running a series of conversations to hear directly from people with disability, carers, family members, and community members about:

  • What good disability support looks and feels like
  • What matters most when choosing or working with a disability service
  • What helps you feel respected, safe and heard
  • And what needs to change.

These conversations are not about BSL specifically. They’re about your experiences across the disability service system – what’s working, what isn’t, and what needs to be different.

How can I take part?

You can choose the option that works best for you:

  • Join a one-on-one 45-minute conversation with someone from our team (you’ll receive a $50 thank you payment), or
  • Complete a short 30-minute online survey in your own time (with a $30 thank you payment).

All conversations will be held over the phone or on Microsoft Teams – whichever is easiest for you. You can also use chat or captions, and we’ll do our best to make it accessible and comfortable. We can also arrange to meet in person if you’d prefer.

Want to register your interest?

You can fill out this Expression of Interest form. It only takes a few minutes.

Expressions of interest will be open until the end of September.

If you have any questions, need help registering, or want to talk more about what’s involved, feel free to contact us at communications.ndis@bsl.org.au
